About Us
The Charleston Leadership Foundation (CLF) was founded in 2002 in order to bring together local Christian leaders to minister to the community and change lives.
CLF accomplishes this mission by working through a combination of organizations and initiatives, including the Annual Prayer Breakfast, LifeWorks, the Be a Mentor Initiative, and Lowcountry Orphan Relief.
Statement of Purpose
Historic Charleston was founded over 300 years ago beginning with Charles Towne Landing, the site where the original settlement was established in 1670. Since that time the city has grown into a strong central presence for the surrounding communities and a prosperous business center reflecting a strong tradition of leadership. That leadership has also been marked from the city’s first days with spiritual concern and growth. Beginning with the first churches established in those early formative years the city has seen the number of churches grow until Charleston was affectionately referred to as the Holy City. Today that spiritual heritage has grown into a diverse and vibrant faith community throughout the greater Charleston area.
We wish to gather in the name of Jesus Christ to discover how we can be more effective as men and women with leadership responsibilities here in the city. Fellowship in the name of Jesus does amazing things. It puts political and philosophical differences in a totally different perspective. We join with others in all of the 50 states sharing similar breakfasts over the year with unity of purpose to pray for our city, county, state and national leaders and seek the Lord’s guidance and strength in the conduct of our personal and public lives.
